hi all more ramblings from the darkside, as most of you know me and my better half were lucky enough to go to china on hols , a most interesting place Holmes. mind you my other had passport stolen at the airport as we arrived !! big problem as we were to fly on from Bejing the next day. so many a happy trip to 1 the consulate 2 the security bureau and 4 in every taxi in china (well it felt like it) , and 5 what happened to 3.So after new passport arrived we set off on our travels to the Yantze river on super cruise ship/boat thing to trip up to see the BIG dam , size does matter ...its huge, then on to the famous ghost town of Fendu, just weird, next more cruising down river till nice trip in a San-pan , then night visit to Chonquang where every skyscraper lights up like a big xmas tree ...wow, next a visit to the zoo to see the pandas, all go ahhhh , off next for a plane ride to xi'an where the Teracotta warriors hide out.again WOW , a quick trip next to the wild goose pagoda ,well good brov , then off to do taichi with famous master ( liked that bit).temple of Hun dynasty next and his tomb lots of walking on this one, then plane again back to bejing for Tinamen square,the forbidden city ,summer palace and peking duck (liked that bit too). finally a strollete along the great wall , you know a casual wander up an incline a mountain goat would have trouble negotiating ,mind you the block and tackle came in handy !! then home to blighty 15 days after we left , now we both want a holiday to get over the holiday .... but if you get the chance to go do it.
ps next hols year will be 5 days tenting in the garden !!!!
